Why employers should care about health and wellness

A sound body is the key to a sound mind. Health is compared to wealth and the truth in this analogy is pertinent. To perform well in a workplace, a person must be physically healthy at the first place. Only physical health ensures mental wellness, which in turn assures productive performance. For employers, health and wellness of employees is ought to be a primary concern. Corporate health wellness programs are gradually becoming a common adoption in companies. The benefits of such initiatives are quite apparent in the overall productivity and profit of a business. Wellness programs not only define responsibility of an employer to their employees, but also bring out a sense of good feeling and care towards them. Some of the reasons why employers should care about health and wellness of employees are listed out in the following discussion.

Workplace productivity is interrelated to physical well being of employees. There are no ways to make an employee work if he or she is physically sick and unable to perform. This has an adverse effect on workplace and overall output of the process. Work absentee means either the task is stagnated or it is allocated to another executive. If the work is halted, the overall process is affected. In most of the processes, tasks are pipelined as consecutive operations on a same document or program. Hence, if a particular operation is halted, the next task cannot be processed. This means, the process will be affected, which will in return affect the output or productivity. Thus, an occasional absentee can led to a huge damage to the business. To avoid such conditions, the best employers could do is to take care of their employees. On the other hand, work leaves taken on medical grounds are longer and generally more than a day or two. Such situation proves to be a real concern in any business process.

As psychological or mental balance is a factor of physical health, an unhealthy person will never be able to execute a task with competence. On the contrary, working with an unsound health is always prone to mistakes and errors. To insure proper execution of any task, an employee must be physically fit, which insures mental fitness. A process where employees are healthy is sure to perform better than a process which is stuffed with ailing people. Therefore, employers must emphasis on physical well-being of their employees in order to ascertain profitable work and therefore the profitable business.

AK Mishra’s Art of Success Seminar held at Amity University, Noida

After a huge success with Radio Amity talk session, Success Guru AK Mishra injected amazing skills in students of living a successful life with his mesmerizing talk session held in collaboration with Amity University at F-2 Auditorium, Amity, on 7th April 2015. AK Mishra talked to communication students on the closest topic to his heart “Take Charge of Life”, which is also the Foundation Course of AK Mishra’s Art of Success. During the seminar, he shared his vision towards life which has taken him to his ultimate destination, and how people can become the master of their destiny by just reviving the belief on oneself.

The Auditorium was filled with overwhelmed number of students with so much enthusiasm. With the flow of seminar, students became so indulged into the session and shared their deep desires & the concerns, whereas, Success Guru AK Mishra, using his skills of great understanding of Human behavior, provided solutions to the concerns by narrating many inspirational stories, showing movie clips and by explaining motivational incidents.
According to him success is an art which can be learnt by understanding some fundamental rules and could be developed into habit with sincere and regular practice of those rules. “Success isn't one time achievement but a continuous process for higher goals” he explained during the Seminar.
Success Guru AK Mishra motivated the audience by prodding them to understand the purpose of their lives and how one gets astray from the same due to continuous conditioning of our minds right from our childhood. He urged every one present to dream big and constantly remind oneself that we are born for a definitive purpose. Once we find the purpose of our life, we need to work in the right direction gathering right information and developing skills for the same. It is then that we’ll see the whole universe coming together to translate our dreams into reality.

Tips and suggestions for employed parents to have healthy work life balance

Family work-balance is a complex issue which involves day to day demands in professional front as well as in personal front. It is even more complex for the working parents who have to juggle with multiple hands to fulfill the various demands at working place and then have to cope up with kids’ schooling activities and other family demands as well. In the age of busy lifestyles, parents spend lot of energy trying to manage their time more effectively. Hence, we would like to share our suggestions to provide parents a well-balanced life between their work and their kids’ demands.
1.       Flexibility of Timings in Office: Flexibility of timings is major requirement for working parents who need to attend the basic needs of their children, as well as to engage in activities that enhance their children’s academic performance, emotional and social well-being.
Two types of flexible work practices seem especially well suited to parents who work: flextime arrangements that allow parents to coordinate their work schedules with their children’s school schedules, and policies that allow workers to take short periods of time off—a few hours or a day or two—to attend a parent-teacher conference, or care for a child who has suddenly fallen ill. Many companies that have instituted such policies have benefited through employees’ greater job satisfaction and employee retention.


2.       Organizations can also help parents in providing quality time to their kids when highly requisite by allowing them to work from home. This would enable working parents to meet their job responsibilities and to build strong relationships with their children as well.

3.       Special time period of 15-20 minutes should be allotted to the parents to have telephonic conversation or Skype call with the kids at a particular time when children reach home from their schools.

4.        Instead of parents rushing for the parents’ teacher meetings, school should make such kind of arrangements in which they can have healthy conversation about the kid through Skype call, which in turns will help parents to save few hours which they can dedicate in fulfilling their official tasks. 

5.           Parents should keep their kids under supervision to avoid any kind of unpredictable happening. For this, parents should keep in touch with the driver of the school bus and also can put micro cameras on the school bags of kids to be assured that the kid has reached home safely.


6.       Beside this, parents should keep their kids involved with other activities as well to keep their day busy, such as dance classes, swimming classes or other outdoor sports activities.

Self-Belief Power

Belief is golden thread that runs through all the teachings and makes them work for those who sincerely accept and apply them. This is a truth related to our any goal. One of the foremost conditions to be successful in life is to have belief in ourself and in the achievement we target for. As our brain is a goal seeking organism, it has power to make our both negative or positive belief a reality. In fact, through a lifetime’s worth of events, our brain actually learns what to expect next whether it eventually happens that way or not. And because our brain expects something will happen a certain way, we often achieve exactly what we anticipate. Therefore, it is important to hold positive expectations in our mind. In fact, world belongs to believers and only believers are true achievers.

POWER OF RIGHT THINKING AND VISUALIZATION

Success is development of power to get whatever one wants in life without interfering with the rights of others. In an age of tough competitions success can come through the use of such power only. Power is an organized energy or effort. It’s an ability to organize knowledge and the faculties of mind. We call it HUMAN SOFTWARE. Human mind can be compared with a computer, which cannot run a programme without software. The thinking process and the life experiences are what make our memory, which works like a human software.
Our experiences are not what happened to us but what we did with what happened to us. In other words our experiences are our responses to stimuli created by events of our life. Our responses to forthcoming events are based on past experiences in similar situations. Our thinking pattern plays the most crucial role in creating our memory and influencing our attitude. In fact, thinking creates memory and memory creates attitude which ultimately decides success or altitude of life. In fact, thinking is the process of creating human memory. All that we are is the result of what have been thought so far. Every word we think is creating our life. Our very life is our thinking and the result of our thinking process. The secret of success lies not without but within the thoughts of man.
Thoughts make weak men strong and strong men weak. Whatever all we do eating, wearing clothes, driving, playing, are preceded by thoughts. The very way we walk, the way we carry ourselves, our talk, our manner of dress, all reflect our way of thinking. What we exhibit outwardly, we are inwardly. We are the product of our own thought. Whatever we believe ourselves to be, we are.
Thoughts are the original source of all wealth, all successes, all material gains, all great discoveries and inventions and of all achievements. Our thoughts, those predominate, determine our character, our career, indeed our everyday life.
Thoughts are the guiding force behind all the actions. And our actions inadvertently lead us to success or failure. It is rightly said, “Thoughts make or break a man. It is also believed by great religious leaders that the universe is created by thought of universal mind. This universal mind is the super highway of information linking all the human minds together. That is why we react to thoughts of each other even when not physically in touch. They call it intuition or sixth sense. We are molded greatly by others through newspapers, movies, radio and some thoughts generated through casual encounters. We are constantly bombarded by varying degree of thoughts all the time. And some of them may tune with our inner voice and can lead to greater visions. You all might have heard a popular advertisement saying, “An IDEA can change your life.” The perception of some great scientists changed the course of humanity by channelizing common events into some great theories. The falling of an apple could be an easy availability of food but a powered brain of Newton took it as doors opening to great theories in Physics.
Mind is the source of all power and success is the product of creative thinking and firm belief in our ability to execute the ideas. Like attracts like is true when it comes to mental interactions. And we start getting help from our surroundings. Our mind sends silent signals that have magnetic influence. Positive frame of mind only invites desired results as thought creates after its kind and attracts upon which it is directed. For the thing which we greatly fear, that comes upon us. Our fear thoughts are just as creative and as magnetic in attracting troubles to us as are the constructive and positive thoughts in attracting positive results. Hence our thoughts should be directed on success and not on failure.
Visualization of positive outcome of our efforts gives a great power to our mind to succeed. This is a technique to deliberately foresee our success time and again in a relaxed state of mind. It activates creative power of subconscious mind and also focuses our mind towards our goal by programming its Reticular Activating System [RAS]. RAS is like RADAR for us which can send positive signals to others and can receive positive powers from others. In other words it magnetizes and attracts to us the people, resources and opportunities we need to achieve our goal. These people and resources might have existed earlier also but as our RAS was not activated we could not recognize them. If we keep visualizing happiness at destination point we will get strength and inspiration to face all odds of journey, rather we will enjoy our entire journey. Einstein says, “Imagination is everything. It is the purview of life’s coming attraction.” All discoveries and inventions have been preceded by imagination. The famous martial art champion and Hollywood film star, Bruce Lee, while struggling to establish himself as an actor in Hollywood, once wrote a letter to himself predicting that he would become superstar in coming ten years. He took this statement written by himself as a message from heaven, read it again and again every day and kept visualizing the glories and happiness attached with him as a superstar. This practice activated his RAS and being fully inspired he gave his best in acting to become a superstar in just two years with the release of his famous film ‘Enter the dragon’. Today in Olympics almost in every game players are advised and also trained to use this visualization technique. Visualization, in fact, keeps us focused towards our main goal and also keeps us fully inspired and confident to pursue it.

Visualization has a power to transform our desire into will. And, desire is to obtain while will is a power to achieve. Therefore, we should navigate our mind with right thinking and through visualization technique we should reprogram our subconscious mind to power it up for spontaneous move towards our goal.

STATE OF MIND (HUMAN SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME)

Human brain is the biggest computer of the world. Rather it is much more powerful than any latest generation computer. As a computer cannot work without software and for different results it needs specific software, so happens with human brain. We all need human software, their maintenance and upgradation every day in order to get desired results and to keep growing in our life. The level of progress, peace and happiness depends on the level of our software.
Human software is stored in sub-conscious mind. Therefore to make any change and improvement in your software you should know how to access your sub-conscious mind. Your brain emits electrical energy known as brain wave frequencies to help you perform various tasks. These frequencies vary between 0 and 21 depending on the task you are involved in. The more complex the task, the greater the brain power requirement, the higher the brain wave frequencies. An adult’s brain wave frequencies range from 0 to 21 depending on the conscious or subconscious or asleep state of mind.

Different states of our mind
1. The conscious state of mind: Your conscious mind operates through beta brain wave frequencies ranging from 14 to 21. The beta brain wave frequencies vary according to the intensity of the brain power required. It is your analytical, logical, thinking left brain. It accesses and interprets the world through its five senses: sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.
2. The subconscious state of mind: This is your inner world, emotional subjective dimension. Human software is stored here. It enjoys ESP (Extra Sensory Perception), a power to feel and foresee what you cannot see through your open eyes. It operates through Alpha frequencies ranging from 7 to 14. The most ideal frequency is 10. Alpha is relaxed, meditative, hypnotic, drowsy, sleepy (but not asleep) state of mind. It is a rapid learning state. Children learn faster because they remain in Alpha frequencies naturally. At about 18 years of age human brain transits to Beta frequencies and it operates through these frequencies only. An adult’s brain can come down to Alpha frequencies only through meditation and relaxation techniques. As you can access your subconscious mind at Alpha frequencies only you will have to come down to these frequencies if you want to re-program your brain. For making your studies and learning effective and to sharpen your memory power you need to master the technique of coming in Alpha state at will. While studying seriously you need to remain at these frequencies. Only then you can understand, learn and memorize better.
3. The asleep state of mind: At this state, human mind is at Delta frequencies ranging from 4 to 7. Frequencies are low because we hardly require any brain power while sleeping.
4. The Unconscious state of mind: The brain power requirement at this state is negligible. Therefore brain wave frequencies range from 0 to 4 when a person is in unconscious state.
Important Points to Remember about Brain Wave Frequencies
·         Frequencies change with activities involved – working or relaxing. Frequencies change with the level of complexity of activities.
·         Frequency changes depend also on states of mind.
·         Spiritually advanced yogis can maintain dhyanas (concentration) with conscious awareness and control at the Delta & Theta levels of mind.
·         Young children naturally function at Delta and Theta brain wave frequencies. Repetitive messages either negative or positive get programmed in their brain firmly. It means that you might have been wrongly programmed for some habits, attitudes, behavior and thinking in early childhood from parents or anyone in environment. You need to identify them and replace them with good programming.
·         Alpha is a rapid learning stage as Alpha frequencies power up mind for higher receptivity.
·         Adults learn at Beta while children up to teen age study at Alpha. If an adult wants to be better learner he needs to come in alpha frequencies deliberately. In fact, the brain transits to the higher Beta brain wave frequencies at around eighteen years. Then an individual loses the ability to use the lower, more powerful Alpha waves without falling off to sleep or relax meditative state.
·         Adults can reach Alpha frequencies only through practicing meditation or proper brain training.
·         The art to use Alpha and Beta states at will is a power to make you genius and all successful.
·         All age groups can create major life changes by mastering the art of changing brain frequencies.
·         Successes justify the time spent on practicing frequency control and development of mind power.
